Jordan Wylie's 2020 Training Phase

“Running Dangerously - The Polar Edition 2020”.

Leg 1: Siberia, Russia (Training) in January 2020

This race was a half marathon in Siberia, Russia where sub zero temperatures were down to minus 12. The purpose of this adventure was to blow away the Christmas cobwebs and start 2020 as we mean to go on with a steady state run in a cold environment. At a request from the Army Cadets in the U.K, it was suggested I run in fancy dress to raise awareness of mental health in young people so I decided to run in the costume of Kristoff from the new Disney film, Frozen 2. The locals were delighted and I spent much of my time before and after the race posing for photographs with Russian families. Although this was a cold race, it was also probably the hottest race out out of all the runs I will do this year. Next up is Alaska and The Yukon in 2 weeks time where temperatures are currently minus 40 and I will need to run a half marathon and a full marathon in the USA and Canada with only 48 hours in between.
